Honest to the Core!

Before following Jesus, Matthew was a tax collector. Those who were in such a profession were known by everyone for their dishonesty. When Jesus called Matthew to follow Him, Matthew left his dishonest lifestyle and chose a life of honesty.

When you read the Gospel that he wrote, you will notice a big emphasize that he puts on the importance of being honest with ourselves and with God. He also emphasizes on seeing the hypocrisy of others around us who pretend to be honest in their words but are shown dishonest by their actions.

This Sunday we will be looking at how honesty helps us to understand ourselves and relate to others. In order to do this, we must be willing to see who we are and who God wants us to be. When that becomes clear to us, we need to commit ourselves to a lifestyle of honesty & courage. That is what God intends for His children to be in Him! Honest to the core!
