Satisfaction of a searching heart: The encounter of Necodemus with Jesus

As a professor of religion, and a ruler in the land of Israel, Nicodemus did not have answers to the eventful presence of Jesus amongst the people.  He couldn’t tolerate his inquisitve heart and mind, so he decided to encounter Jesus secretly.  Not only did he find answers to his questions but he found his purpose in life as he experienced the truths of being born again by the work of the Holy Spirit.

Effort on our part to learn about God is great.  Religious experiences can sometimes make a person feel privileged.  But real changes only come as a person is given to God and the Holy Spirit takes over his or her life.  The Bible calls this experience being “Born again”.  When faith in God translates into a ‘born again’ experience, the changes become unavoidable and evident, and the rewards become inseparable.
