The issue of giving to the Lord is always very touchy. people are offended when the pastor speaks on the subject. In fact, they are bold enough to tell the pastor not to preach on giving because it represents a conflict of interest for them since they get paid by the church. I wonder sometimes, if they actually believe in what they say or use it as an excuse not to hear on the subject and be convicted to give.

Jesus did not shy away from talking about giving. Interestingly, He did not speak extensively about tithing (ten percent), but He spoke repeatedly about total giving.

This Sunday we will examine the Old Testament tithing and the New Testament tithing and compare the two. We will also establish the main principle in giving according to the biblical standards, which by the war are not different in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

If this has been a concern or an unresolved matter for you, I would urge you to come and listen to this very important message. And while you come, please pray for me that I would articulate God’s true mind on the subject and pray for yourself that you would welcome with an open heart to receive the Word for yourself. I believe, this message could change your entire life and I am confident that it will change the life of our church as people like you take messages like this seriously and obey the Lord’s wishes for their lives.

Hope to see you in church, either at 1pm for Armenian service or 3pm for the English service.

The last few Sundays we have looked at how the Lord Jesus transformed the lives of Nicodemus (John 3), the blind man (John 9), the Samaritan Woman (John 4) and this week we will look at Zacchaeus (Luke 19).

It is amazing that we are born as people who learn to get and as we grow older we become even more greedy and want to get even more. Somehow though as we encounter Jesus, He changes us to experience the joy of giving.

In the study of Zacchaeus’s life, one notices that Jesus enters his life and this chief tax collector who had become wealthy by hoarding people’s taxes, becomes a new being; this time giving up four times all that he had unjustly gained and parting from half his wealth in order to gain Christ. How does one experience such a change? How does Jesus become such an imposing person in this man’s life? Can it be justified that this is what God wants to do in everyone’s life?

You have to come to listen to this powerful and exciting message which I believe has transformed my life and can transform yous as well.

See you Sunday @ 1:00 pm.
Please read Luke 19 in preparation for this message.

Often times the story of Jesus encounering the Samaritan woman is
introduced as how we, as believers, should reach out to share our
faith with others. This Sunday I will look into the character of this
Samaritan woman and will explain how she was challenged by Jesus in
her core being and how the transformation occurred in her life.

The message will reveal the nature of this woman that is no different than
ours and how she had deceived herself into comfortable condition
thinking that she was OK and on her way to heaven. But as she met Jesus and He exposed her secrets, she couldn’t avoid to surrender herself to His Lordship and welcome Him as the promised Messiah. Her personality is most interesting and her story is most compelling to convict everyone who thinks that they are safe and secure in their world of self-deception.

I hope you will join us to learn from this one woman’s example of how she moved from her self-justification to self-acknowledgement and self-eradication. Please read John chapter 4 before coming to church. See you on Sunday!

As a professor of religion, and a ruler in the land of Israel, Nicodemus did not have answers to the eventful presence of Jesus amongst the people. He couldn’t tolerate his inquisitve heart and mind, so he decided to encounter Jesus secretly. Not only did he find answers to his questions but he found his purpose in life as he experienced the truths of being born again by the work of the Holy Spirit.

Effort on our part to learn about God is great. Religious experiences can sometimes make a person feel privileged. But real changes only come as a person is given to God and the Holy Spirit takes over his or her life. The Bible calls this experience being “Born again”. When faith in God translates into a ‘born again’ experience, the changes become unavoidable and evident, and the rewards become inseparable.

If you want to hear more, please come this Sunday @ 1:00 pm.

Forgiving is a topic that every Christian deals with. The worldly view of forgiveness is: The one who sins asks for forgiveness. And the one who is offended may choose to decide whether to accept the forgiveness or to reject it based on the honesty of the person confessing and seeking forgiveness.

The Bible teaches differently. A true believer cannot but seek forgiveness and a true believer cannot but forgive and restore. The story is taken from the book of Philemon and the message is based on Paul’s teaching to Philemon to forgive and restore. For the details of the sermon, you must come and hear the Word. You may choose to read the letter to Philemon before coming to church this Sunday May 30th.

The message of the Gospel was intended for the whole world! Jesus died not only for the Jews but for all who believe in his name! Jesus said to his disciples, “But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere–in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Interestingly however, the initial days of the church, many of the Jewish Christians thought that salvation was only through the Jews and for the Jews. God had to come down and change that mind set which was exclusive. What a privilege it is to know that the Holy Spirit descended upon the church in Caesarea and changed that notion. From there the Gospel started spreading to all the world, even to Armenia and to Armenians.

Peter at the time the leader of the church received a direct message from the Lord and his perspective changed. He began to preach to the gentiles and realized that they too were part of the salvation plan of God. (Acts 10 and 11)

This Sunday we look at how a person changes when he or she encounters the Holy Spirit in His or her life. Please come and be a part of what God will do in your life when you encounter the Holy Spirit in your life.

When called by Jesus, John immediately left behind his father’s business in order to follow Him. John was not only part of the core 12 disciples, but he was part of the three disciples, along with Peter and James, who had the chance to accompany Jesus during the most intimate moments in His ministry.

While John the apostle was definitely a favored disciple, he learned that he was part of a community. Reading the first epistle he wrote, one quickly gets the impression that John understood his role as a pastor to involve the whole community in the body of Christ.

This Sunday we will look into the areas where believers share in certain things in common. It would be very helpful if the attendees come prepared by reading the First Epistle of John.

But Jesus was not shocked, He patiently taught Simon Peter to keep his promises. People make promises without thinking about delivering them. Peter is no different. How many times do we see him making a promise and not keeping it?

Jesus teaches him to keep his promises by coming to his side with him and questioning his Heart and his determination. What does it take to keep a promise? We will look into that question and find answers from Peter’s Letters. Come expecting to find answers!
